The tradition had begun with Apple, then Microsoft, and now according to rumors, it seems Google is the next to show case its products itself.
The retail stores will be able to attract more customers is what Google believes in and this is what seems to be the driver for this retail setting. Letting people a chance to try out the products will make the products demandable among the regular customers too, not just the hard core tech users.
